The only problem would be suspending the glass across the threshold between the kitchen and the living room. I was hung-up on this issue for quite some time and finally found the solution when I saw some hanging glass shelves - where the glass was suspended on thin wires from the ceiling to the floor. So now I needed to find companies that produces such a solution. It took awhile but I found my salvation online with a company called Arakawa Hanging Solutions. Arakawa had what I needed.... and after getting their grippers and ordering the glass, I put up the shelving in about 7 hours with some help from a friend.

The train selection process almost happened by luck. I was trying to find a Lionel-style, large-gauge train that would be very visible from the floor. In general, these types of trains are quite costly. At about the same time, Harry Potter was released in movie form and LEGO sets were also released to coincide with the box office draw. As a LEGO fanatic since practically child-birth (and as a Harry Potter fan), I went to purchase the two largest LEGO sets being released: Hogwart's Castle (the school) and Hogwart's Express (the train).

In purchasing the LEGO, I remembered that LEGO also made powered trains. So after some decision time, I chose to grab a LEGO passenger train and a LEGO locomotive. Assembly time was pretty quick (although the people at LEGO were a bit curious about the 60+ linear feet of track I wanted).
